Day 11 news
This is day 11 for me here at the center. We have 2 new people as of this week ( 1 in today). there are 8 rooms and 12 beds total. all female except for myself and my roommate , an 18 year old with OCD.
I've just hit my 3000cal./day mark which at present includes 2 Ensures. This has been hard, esp. today - don't feel hungry for lunch, and extra liquid feels funny. I have been constipated since Friday and feel like i'm going to burst this evening - hoping that tommorrow this will take care of itself. It's kind of nice to back to the regular week schedule of classes and meetings. My counseling is currently slated for 3 days a week at 7:30Am before breakfast which is hard for me , but that's the time slot that is available. Parting of being a newby here is dealing with all the rules with no chance for input ( this does change some later). I have about 10 pounds to go before I reach my 75% level, which will signifcantly increase some of my priviledges, like going off unit on guided trips. Fresh air breaks in a small fenced park is my one external distraction ( providing you're eating 100% of everything at everymeal). Just trying to focus on breathing a lot and push through the discomfort. This week I just need to keep my chin up, keep 'eating' through , and give myself a mental break when i need it. Have a good thought for me. If you want to respond on my FB wall, i would ask that you keep it 'generic' without specific references to where I'm at or details. I think about you guys often, and hope this all finds you managing you're challenges well.

George

My new blog in recovery !
Greetings to my friends and loved ones !!!
This is a blog I have just set up that I plan to use to share my journey in recovery and keep you in touch with my successes/ struggles and experience in this process. It will be easier for me not having to email you all individually, and will also allow you the personal freedom to check in as you wish and share in the experience with me. I will try to keep it up fairly regularly, and I hope that you will add your own thoughts/ experiences and encouragement when you like. Please don't feel pressed to respond here - you can always message me at my email or even better Facebook if that is more appropriate for you.
The period I am going through right now is perhaps the most challenging for me being in-patient at a treatment center. This is a new beginning in a way, and I greatly appreciate in advance any help or insight you might offer.
So I begin this project with hope and humility, and I see it as a chance to both to share and receive support in this healing time.
in health and love,
George
